Joseph A. Carpy Kostelac; 82; of (Fairhope) Belle Vernon; died Friday; May 14; 2004; in Country Care Manor; Fayette City; after a lengthy illness. He was born in Fairhope; Washington Township; Fayette County; Oct. 16; 1921; a son of the late James and Mary Berenik Kostelac. Also preceded in death by his wife; Helen Diggins Kostelac; a son; Richard Eugene Kostelac; and grandson; Richard Shane Kulik. He was Catholic by faith. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. with more than 40 years of service at the Monessen plant. A World War II veteran; he served in the U.S. Army with the 275th Infantry. He was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club; where he was a life member. He is survived by a son; Joseph A. Kostelac Jr.; of Belle Vernon; two daughters; Bonnie and husband; Richard Wilson; of Monessen; and Sharon Sheri Kulik; of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister; Rose McFall; of Fairhope; and three brothers; John Kostelac; of Monessen; Rudolph Rudy Kostelac; of Fayette City; and William Kostelac; of New York. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ELEY/McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; 334 Main St.; Fayette City; and Monday until 10 a.m.; when a blessing service will be held with the Rev.
