Obituary

Nathaniel Mosley, 88, of Monessen, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 7, 2004, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born in Birmingham, Ala., on Oct. 25, 1916, he was a son of the late William and Sally Mosley. He was employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen Plant, where he worked as a crane operator until his retirement. Mr. Mosley was a very active and faithful deacon and member of Christian Life Ministries Inc., Donora. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Evelyn Mosley and Burnell Robinson of Monessen and Janice Mosley Smith of McKeesport, three sons, Nathaniel Mosley Jr. of New York City, Charles Mosley of Uniontown, and Robert Mosley of Birmingham, Ala., one sister, Erma Mosley of the state of California, 50 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren. Mr. Mosley is also survived by a wife, Emma Mosley, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was married to the late Evelyn Phillips-Mosley, who passed away in 1993, and to the late Earstie Mosley. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Fred Mosley, one sister, Inez Mosley-Chissom, and one daughter, Carol Mosley-Frezzell. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Union Baptist Church, 670 McMahon Ave., Monessen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 11 at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Robert Holmes officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, Monessen, Trudy Taylor Bristol, director, is in charge of arrangements.
