Obituary

Major Albert C. Fuzzy Tarquinio USAF (Ret), 86, of Monessen, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born July 12, 1917, in Jeannette, he was the son of the late Carmine and Lucia Tucci Tarquinio. A World War II Air Force veteran, Mr. Tarquinio had been a member of the Thomas McKee Post 28 American Legion, the VFW of Monessen, and the 12AF, 57BW, 321BG, and the 447SQDN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edythe O'Rourke Tarquinio, and four sisters, Mary Chiavaro, Yolanda Levi, Antonia Shivey and Olga Uram, and one granddaughter, Jenny Haggart. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Navy Captain James A. and Daryl Haggart USN (Ret), daughters Gayle Gibbons and Terry Tarquinio, his grandchildren, Daniel and Emily Harrart, Phillip and Taylor Gibbons, Thomas and Brian Brookes, and Mrs. Robert (Kelly) Pendleton, and two great-grandsons, Tyler Brooks and Robbie Pendleton II, his sister and niece, Edythe and Toni Tarquinio, good friend and caregiver, Valerie Anthony, a faithful companion, his dog BJ , and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held in the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 3, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Senge officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Tarquinio requests contributions be made to the charity of one's choice through the funeral home.
