Dorothy M. Hawk,94,formerly of Belle Vernon,passed away Thursday, Jan. 15,2004,in the Parish House, Perryopolis. A daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth Wilson Sexton,she was born Dec. 9,1909,in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Hawk was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon, a member and past Regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas,Court 1522. She also was a member of the Pennyslvania State Education,retired Monessen Teachers and National Education associations. Mrs. Hawk was a charter member of the Monessen AARP,and she attended programs at the Center on the Hill. She had resided in Lynnwood since 1943 and was formerly of Monessen. Mrs.Hawk retired after 15 years as a hearing specialist with Intermediate Unit 7. She was the beloved mother of two daughters and one son-in-law, Dorothy Ann Turnbull of Perry Township and Kathleen and Wayne Snyder of Mifflintown; one son,Dr. Mark Hawk of Ashaway, R.I.;10 grandchildren,Scott Turnbull and wife Tullyne and therr five children of Greensburg,Kathy Kelly and husband James and their three children of Belle Vernon,Mary Beth Sweeney and husband Matthew II and their two children of Rostraver Township,Thomas Turnbull and wife Mary Beth and their two children of Brentwood,Wayne Douglas Snyder and his four children of Mifflintown,Dean Snyder of San Diego, Calif.,Danny Snyder and wife Patricia and their three children of Mifflintown,Deborah Interri and her child of Ashaway, R.I.,Jenneen Paulick and husband Brandt and their child of Camden, N.J.,and Gregory Hawk of Oahu, Hawaii;and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hawk,in 1993;one great-grandchild;and one son-in-law, Thomas Turnbull,in 1995. Private burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.and Cremation Service,a Golden Rule Member Firm (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,handled arrangements.
