Camillo J. Cam Fantini; 90; of Charleroi; died Wednesday; Oct. 15; 2003; in Jefferson Hospital. He was born Sept. 15; 1913; in Pennadomo; Italy; the son of the late Nicola and Marianina DiGravio Fantini. He was a member of Mary; Mother of the Church Parish of Charleroi. Mr. Fantini was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; receiving the Purple Heart for wounds suffered during the Battle of the Bulge. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant; and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are three children; Amy Fantini Solobay of Canonsburg; John R. Fantini of Valencia and Rose Fantini Nega of Charleroi; two sisters; Rose Gaggini and Julia Sefchok; both of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren; Jeffrey; Jason; Joshua and Jonathon Fantini and Allison and Katherine Nega; and one great-grandson; Riley Camillo Fantini. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Rosita Pesi Fantini; and one sister; Jennie Bartolozzi. At the request of the deceased; there will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the library or volunteer fire department of one’s choice. The Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home; Charleroi; is in charge of arrangements.
