Obituary

Camillo J. Cam Fantini, 90, of Charleroi, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in Jefferson Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1913, in Pennadomo, Italy, the son of the late Nicola and Marianina DiGravio Fantini. He was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish of Charleroi. Mr. Fantini was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart for wounds suffered during the Battle of the Bulge. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are three children, Amy Fantini Solobay of Canonsburg, John R. Fantini of Valencia and Rose Fantini Nega of Charleroi, two sisters, Rose Gaggini and Julia Sefchok, both of Belle Vernon, six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jason, Joshua and Jonathon Fantini and Allison and Katherine Nega, and one great-grandson, Riley Camillo Fantini. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosita Pesi Fantini, and one sister, Jennie Bartolozzi. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the library or volunteer fire department of one's choice. The Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home, Charleroi, is in charge of arrangements.
