Obituary

Elmer Croushore, about 24 years old, a well known young man of North Belle Vernon at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning,December 28,1910, shot and killed himself as the result, it is said, of domestic trouble. He committed the deed shortly after returning from work at the Pittsburg Steel mill. Mr. Croushore was on night turn this week at the steel plant. This morning he returned home at the usual hour, and ate his breakfast. He seemed moody, it is stated, and re marked that he was going to his room. From his unusual silence and actions, members of the family were suspicious, and he was followed to his room shortly and the door was found locked. While the members of the family were debating the unusualness of the occurrence a revolver shot rang out. The door was broken open and the young man was found on the floor, life extinct. A bullet hole between the eyes showed that the leaden missle had pierced the brain and caused instant death. Mr. Croushore belonged to a well to-do family. Recently his father, T. W. Croushore,it is stated, sold some valuable coal land and by the deal got considerable money. This, however is not generally considered to have had anything to do with the young man's act,but trouble of a domestic nature is blamed. Young Crousbore married a Fayette City woman and they had a son five years old. One brother and sister survive besides the widow and small son. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Croushore.  One brother and sister survive besides the widow and a small son.
