Obituary
Noah Ward Speers was the son of Apollos Speers 1801-1857 buried at Speers Cemetery (destroyed) and Elizabeth Cooper 1803-1874. Apollos operated the Speers to Belle Vernon Ferry. This is not the same Apollos that married Matilda Furnier and was an Undertaker/Furniture store owner in Belle Vernon. That Apollos was the son of Henry J. Speers III and Esther McCrory of Maple Creek. Henry J was the brother of the first Apollos Speers. Sarah Amanda Ward, Noah Ward Speers' wife was his 1st cousin. They had 7 children: 1 died young. Fred and Van shown below,Noahamie Belle Speers Richards,Edna Pleasant Speers Wolverton,William Ward Speers, and Froman Speers 1870-1944.
