Maggie L. Uritzie; 98; of Rostraver Township; died Sunday; June 8; 2003; in Jefferson Hills Manor. A daughter of the late John and Effie Kopeluh Holod; she was born in Smithton on July 10; 1904. Mrs. Uritzie was a charter member of Lynnwood Lutheran Church; where she served as a Sunday school teacher; former treasurer and participated in many other church activities. A resident of Rostraver Township since 1930; she graduated from the former California State Normal School and taught school for nine years in the South Huntingdon and Brownsville school districts. Survivors include one daughter; Dorothy R. Uritzie of Rostraver Township; one granddaughter; Linda Romansky and husband Leonard of Stockdale; and two sisters; Pauline Holod of Smithton and Helen Hoffman of Erie. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph M. Uritzie; one son and daughter-in-law; Merle J. and Betty J. Uritzie; one brother; Michael Holod; and six sisters; Mary Tkach; Anna Chaybin; Alice Yasko; Nellie Holod; Mildred Kelly and Grace Hoenshel. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.; a Golden Rule Member Firm; (724-929-5300); 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. Family and friends will gather for funeral services in Lynnwood Lutheran Church on Wednesday; June 11; at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
