Obituary

Albert Gallatin Van Hook,aged 64,one of Monongahela's well-know citizens,died at his home at Monongahela,Sunday morning,May 30,1915. Mr.Van Hook had been ill but had recently recovered. Saturday he felt so well that he made a trip to Pittsburg. Sunday morning he was seized with a paronysm of coughing during which he burst a blood vessel. Death came soon after. The son of Samuel and Marian Van Hook,the deceased was born in Fayette county. He came to Monongahela some years ago. For many years he was engaged in the glass industry,being for long an employee of the American Window Glass company. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Monongahela. He stood high in Masonic circles being a member of the Henry M.Phillips lodge,Monongahela Royal Arch Masons,ME Moriah council,Pittsburg Commandery No.1,Pennsylvania Corsistory. Mr.Van Hook leaves a wife and one son,Leon,who lives in Columbus. He was a relative of Mr.and Mrs.John H.Bowers of Charleroi. The funeral services were held at the late home Tuesday afternoon,,June 1,1915,at 1 o'clock and were in charge of the Knights Templar of Pittsburg. Interment was at Belle Vernon.
