August Fenske,an old resident of Monessen,died unexpectedly near 9 o'clock Thursday morning, May 21,1914,at the home of his daughtter,Mrs. Milton F. Shrader of Second street,who found him dead lying across the bed. Deceased had not been enjoying good health,but had not been confined to his room only about a week,suffering with heart and kidney trouble. Mrs. Shrader had been upstairs to her father's room about 8 o'clock,giving him his medicine and again about 9 to give him some more nourishment and left him,as she thought,in his ordinary condition. In a half hour she returned to the room and found her father lying across the bed,dead. August Fenske was aged 56 years and had been about Monessn about ten years,for the past two years making his home with his daughter,Mrs. M.F.Shrader. He is survived by a wife who lives in Carksburg,W.Va.Also the following children,Mrs. Charles Axton,Mrs. Jacob Maddon,Herman,Theodore and Bertha Fenske,all of Clarksburg,W.Va.,Mrs. ALfred Bochofer,of Braddock,William Fenske of Weirton,W.Va.,and Mrs. M.F.Shrader,of Monessen. In case friends get here in time the funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the German Lutheran Church;otherwise the funeral will be held Sunday. Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
