Dr. George E. Nickel, a prominent physician of Belle Vernon, died very suddenly Monda evening,November 13,1916 at 5 o'clock at his home. He had been ill for some time, but his death was unexpected. The deceased was born in Connellsville, but for the past twenty-five years has been a practicing physician in Belle Vernon and was prominent In the civic duties of the community, serving lengthy terms on both the school board and town council. He was 57 years of age and besides his aged mother, who resides in Belle Vernon, he is survived by his wife and one daughter. He was married twice, his second marriage occurring a little over a year ago, the bride being Miss Hilda Noel, a young nurse from McKeesport. Funeral services will be held at the late home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
