Emily V. (Smith) Gnoth; 84; died Tuesday; May 6; 2003; in the Masonic Home; Aleppo. She was born July 8; 1918; in Erie to the late John N. and Carrie (Chrispen) Smith. Mrs. Gnoth was a registered nurse; past matron of Anna M. Rote Chapter 491; Order of the Eastern Star; Pleasant Hills; and a member of the McKeesport Alumni Nurses Association and Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Surviving are her husband of 61 years; Edward J. Gnoth; son Edward L. and Robin E. Gnoth of Zelienople; grandchildren Edward P.; Faye; James N. and Melissa Gnoth and Lindsey Kirstatter; and great-grandson Sean Fugh. No visitation. Services at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church; 199 Old Clairton Road; the Rev. Paul Thwaite officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
