Private funeral services were held this morning followed by entombment in Belle Vernon Cemetery for Steve Syabosol; 80; of Belle Vernon; who died Tuesday; Feb. 4; 2003; in Havencrest Inc.; Carroll Township. A son of the late John and Margaret Sobosle; he was born in Pricedale on April 29; 1922. Protestant by faith; Mr. Syabosol was a member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club; Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; and Charleroi VFW Post 167. He had resided in Belle Vernon for over 60 years and retired in 1987 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 48 years; Elizabeth Holan Syabosol; one daughter; Marilynn Syabosol; at home; three sisters; Helen Andrachek of Belle Vernon; Julia Schewit of Las Vegas; Nev.; and Mary Horvat of Charleroi; and one brother; Andrew Sobosle of Pottsboro; Texas. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by two brothers; John Sobosle and Joseph Syabosol; and two sisters; Theresa Young and Margaret Syabosol. The Rev. James C. Ramsey; pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon; officiated.
