Calvin Smitty Smith; 74; of Park Manor; Monessen; died Friday; Jan. 31; 2003. He was born Dec. 10; 1928; in Pricedale; a son of the late Daniel and Marie Smith. He was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Mine in Bentleyville. He was preceded in death by his wife; Doris Smith; four brothers; Albert; Nathaniel; Jennings; and William Robert Smith; five sisters; Bernice Fields; Cornillia Cook; Bertha Gibson; Dorothy Smith; and Aretha Chuasel. Survivors include five daughters; Shelva Haileyesus; Cheryl Hines; Debra Williams; Patricia Smith; and Elizabeth East; four sons; John; Robert and Bruce Smith; all of Monessen; and Mark Smith of Farrell; one brother; James Smith of Pittsburgh; five sister; Roberta Halloway of Donora; Louise Smith of Detroit; Mich.; Kathryn Philips; Alma Suclett; and Barbara Hinton; all of Pittsburgh; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Union Baptist Church; 670 Reed Ave.; Monessen; where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
