Obituary

Frank J. Gardner, 80, of Elizabeth Township, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in Riverside Convalescent Center, McKeesport. Born in Brownsville on April 16, 1922, he was a son of the late Frank and Julia Gardner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Continental Can in West Mifflin. Mr. Gardner is survived by two sons, Frank J. Gardner of Valley City, Ohio, and Robert P. Gardner of Elizabeth Township, one daughter, Margaret Baker of Jeannette, two brothers, Steve Gardner of Lincoln Place and Charles Gardner of Pinon Hills, Calif., three grandchildren, Matthew Tedeski and Joy and Heather Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Gardner, on Nov. 20, 1995. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township. A blessing service will be held in the funeral on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Belle Vernon, with the Very Rev. John J. Kluchko officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
