Obituary

Marilyn J. Marklewicz, 76, of Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late John Marshall Bevan and Phyllis S. Murray Bevan, she was born July 30, 1926, in Charleroi. Mrs. Marklewicz was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and its H.O.A. class. Formerly of Charleroi, she had resided in Belle Vernon since 1952. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Joseph G. Marklewicz, one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Judith Marklewicz, and one brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Marlene Bevan, all of Belle Vernon, one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Raymond Jones of Donora, one grandson, Jared Minor, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Bevan Marklewicz, who died in 1968, one brother, John M. Bevan Jr., and three sisters, Doris Bevan, Priscilla Stickle and Jane Gray Thomas. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Services will be held in the chapel at Belle Vernon Cemetery on Monday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Ramsey officiating. The elders and deacons of First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home to hold services on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
