Julius J. Kerekes; 85; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Tuesday; Aug. 20; 2002; at 5:45 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born July 7; 1917; in Pricedale; he was a son of the late John and Mary Ferta1 Kerekes. Mr. Kerekes was a longtime resident of Rostraver Township. He attended St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and was retired from Mathies Coal Mine; where he worked as a roof bolter. Mr. Kerekes was a veteran of World War II; where he served in the U.S. Army Air Force; and was a member of the Hungarian Club of Pricedale. A devoted husband and very caring father; he is survived by his wife; Helen C. Fekula Kerekes; one son and daughter-in-law; Julius M. Mick and Jamie Kerekes of Rostraver Township; and one brother and sister-in-law; John and Sophie Kerekes of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by three brothers; John Kerekes; who died in infancy; and Steve and John Kerekes. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held Thursday; Aug. 22; in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
