Obituary

Julius J. Kerekes, 85, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at 5:45 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born July 7, 1917, in Pricedale, he was a son of the late John and Mary Ferta1 Kerekes. Mr. Kerekes was a longtime resident of Rostraver Township. He attended St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and was retired from Mathies Coal Mine, where he worked as a roof bolter. Mr. Kerekes was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army Air Force, and was a member of the Hungarian Club of Pricedale. A devoted husband and very caring father, he is survived by his wife, Helen C. Fekula Kerekes, one son and daughter-in-law, Julius M. Mick and Jamie Kerekes of Rostraver Township, and one brother and sister-in-law, John and Sophie Kerekes of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John Kerekes, who died in infancy, and Steve and John Kerekes. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
