Elizabeth D. Fundy
North Belle Vernon

Elizabeth D. Fundy of North Belle Vernon died Thursday, July 11, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late John and Ann Kerestes Derzy, she was born in Sutersville. Mrs. Fundy was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon, the Tuesday Evening Women's Club for over 50 years, the Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Agers, the Monessen Civic Center, and the Bear Rocks Resort Club. She was a licensed realtor and, along with her late husband, Frank, started Fundy's Furniture in Webster in 1964 and then moved the business to North Belle Vernon in 1978. Survivors include one son, Joe Krivoniak of Coal Center, two daughters, Linda Lee Hammer of Pasadena, Md., and Sandra K. Fundy of Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh, and Vail, Colo., five grandchildren, Joseph A. Krivoniak IV, Susan Baxter, Brian, David and Dawn Lamb, and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kimberly Baxter. The youngest of seven children, and last surviving, in addition to her parents, Mrs. Fundy was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A. Krivoniak, on Dec. 25, 1940, and her second husband of 52 years, Frank F. Fundy, on Aug. 11, 1998. Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, July 13, at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Cindric, V.F. as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
