Mary Corwin was born in Pennsylvania in 1834. She married a man by the name of McClure prior to the Civil War and had four children: Ellen, William and Howard were three, the fourth is unknown. Her husband got called off to serve in the Civil War and it was presumed he died as he never returned. Mary married again to James Hagerty and had another child, Esther Agnes. James died around 1902 and shortly after she moved in with her daughter, Agnes and son-in-law Isaac Henry in North Belle Vernon. Mary passed away in 1913 and is buried in North Belle Vernon Cemetery.
