Obituary

William Rook Hawk, 81, of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, peacefully passed away in his home with his family by his side on Saturday, June 22, 2002. He was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Donora, a son of the late William E. and Mary Condash Hawk. He was a member of the Fayette City First Christian Church, Naomi AC Club, Fairhope Rod and Gun Club, and Fayette City American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Hawk, on May 25, 2000. He is survived by five children, William Hawk and wife Debra of Belle Vernon, Jean Waggett and husband Robert of Fairhope, Donna Hatalowich and husband Michael of Fayette City, Cindy Federer and husband Michael of Fayette City, and Cheryl Luciani of Belle Vernon, one brother, Robert Hawk of Ohio, three sisters, Geraldine Moran of Belle Vernon, Marian Coleman of Massachusetts, and Edith Hegedus of Connecticut, 10 grandchildren, Lisa Weston, Renee Kurdilla, Bobbi Jo Waggett, Bryan and Ryan Hawk, Keri, Micheal and Amanda Hatalowich, Michelle Federer and Robert Stewart, and one great-grandchild, Hunter Kurdilla. Friends will be received Monday in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service in the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Boring officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
