Obituary

John C. Salizzoni, 80, of Monessen, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, in Havencrest Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. He was born March 4, 1922, in Smithton, a son of the late Charles Carlo and Mary C. Orlandi Salizzoni. He was a life-long resident of Monessen, a graduate of Monessen High School, and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Mr. Salizzoni retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, having worked as an oiler. He is survived by one brother, Charles B. Salizzoni of Monessen, two sisters, Irene J. Salizzoni of Monessen and Gloria J. Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio, two nieces, Carla Robinson of the state of California and Debbie Babilya of West Newton, two nephews, William Robinson of the state of California, and Norman Skip Santori of Pittsburgh, and four great-nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Clara Santori. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. A Blessing Service will be held Monday, June 10, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
