Obituary

Ethel Jones Turner, 90, formerly of Pricedale, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in Hallsworth House II, Monessen. A daughter of the late Bert and Ella McCracken Jones, she was born April 8, 1911, in Vanceville, Somerset Township. A member of Pricedale Union Church, Mrs. Turner had resided in Pricedale most of her adult life. She retired in 1976 as an investigator for the Auditor General's Office. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Hutson of Belle Vernon, two grandchildren, Tracey Schancz and John Hutson, one sister, Mrs. Warren (Lenore) Patterson of Rostraver Township, several nieces and nephews, and two devoted cousins, George and Kay Turner of Pricedale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Turner, on July 15, 1979, four brothers, Norman, Leonard, Carl and Arthur Jones, and four sisters, Garnet Butler, Pearl Coyle, Vivian Jones and Viola Zorek. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor James Mimidis officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pricedale Union Church.
