Obituary

William J. Bill Luckasevic, 78, of Charleroi, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born March 5, 1923, in Charleroi, he was the son of the late Michael and Julia Radovick Luckasevic. He was a retired Charleroi Borough employee, a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, a 1941 graduate of Charleroi High School, a life member of the Charleroi Fire Department, and a member of the Charleroi Belgium and Italian Unita clubs. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater, receiving four Bronze Stars. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William J. Jr. and Deborah Luckasevic of Bethel Park, and Lee and Denise Luckasevic of Charleroi, four grandchildren, Lee Luckasevic Jr., Bobby and Stephanie Luckasevic of Charleroi, and Kelly M. Luckasevic of Bethel Park, a brother, John Luckasevic of Charleroi, two sisters, Mary Tutena of Charleroi and Julia Turtzer of Carroll Township. Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret Luckasevic in 1990, and two brothers, Stanley and Alex. Friends will be received in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services by the Charleroi Fire Department will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
