Ella Carlson; 88; of Monessen; died Friday; Jan. 18; 2002; in Victoria House; Monessen. She was born Aug. 24; 1913; in Monessen; a daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Patton Carlson. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen. Miss Carlson had been a registered nurse for numerous years and had worked in a sugar plantation in Hawaii during World War II. Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law; William and Beaulah Carlson of Monessen; a sister; Mrs. John (Gladys) Russell of Liberty Borough; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME; INC.; 1209 Grand Blvd.; Monessen; a Golden Rule Funeral Home; from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday; Jan. 22; at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
