Daisy Klanchar Hoffman; 88; of Victoria House; Monessen; formerly of Leighty Avenue; Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Thursday; Jan. 17; 2002; at 1:50 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Dec. 6; 1913; in Arona; she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Suzanne Skender Klanchar. She was a member of Pricedale Union Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hoffman was a volunteer for the American Red Cross; a member of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly; the former Ladies Auxiliary of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; and was a retired cafeteria worker for the former Fox Grocery Co. for many years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Joseph A. and Marilyn Hoffman of Warren; Ohio; and James C. and Sandra Jo Hoffman of Monessen; one brother; Emil Klanchar of Irwin; two grandchildren; Robert Hoffman and Nancy Whitlock; two great-grandchildren; Katelyn Rae and Sarah Marie Whitlock. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph C. Hoffman on April 13; 2001; three brothers; John; Anthony and Stanley Klanchar; and two sisters; Sue Zollars and Mary Zunic. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. James J. Mimidis; pastor of Pricedale Union Church; officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; the family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Daisy K. Hoffman to Pricedale Union Church.
