Obituary

Louis W. (Rog) Bilski, 79, of Arnold City, Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born Feb. 22, 1922, in Washington Township, he was a son of the late Louis Rog and Anna Rog Bilski and Joseph Bilski Sr. He was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City, PNA Lodge 976 of Arno1d City, and Brightwell Daugherty American Legion Post 484, Fayette City. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., Monessen plant. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Florence, and four brothers, George, Clement, Joseph Jr. and John. Survivors include his wife, Julia Ercegovich Bilski, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 28, 2001, and children, Sandra Bilski and Carol Bilski, both of Arnold City, Michael Bilski and wife Peggy of Monessen, and Robert Bilski of Arnold City, a brother, Floyd Bilski of Arnold City, a sister, Adeline Barch of Washington Township, one granddaughter, Melissa Lemley and husband Scott of Monessen, and two great-grandsons, Kaleb and Jayden Lemley. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 12, until 9:30 a.m. when a blessing service will take place followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Leonard McAlpin as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Post 484 will conduct a service Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
