Emma Book; 89; of Beacon Street; Belle Vernon; died Sunday; Nov. 18; 2001; in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Gertrude Worrell Britt; she was born June 19; 1912; in Brownsville. Mrs. Book attended the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and had resided in Belle Vernon for over 50 years. Survivors include two sons -and daughters-in-law; Louis C. and Helen Book of Belle Vernon; Theodore and Juanita Book of Jacksonville; Fla.; a sister; Ella Mae Owens of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren; Christopher; Douglas and Emmalyn Book; Louis Alan Book; Lou Ann Clayton and Cindy Lou Kossar; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Clarkson Book in 1986; a daughter; Gertrude Jean Book in 1942; and three brothers; James; Elmer and Johnny Britt. Friends will be received in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.; 700 Broad Avenue; Belle Vernon; on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy McConville officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
