Maynard N.Jesick;92;of Speer St.;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday Sept.18;2001 in Havencrest Nursing Home. A son of the late p. and Mary Smith Jesick;he war born in Fayette City on Aug.13;1909. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. Mr.Jesick was the last surviving charter member of the Belle Vernon Lions Club and served the club as president and was presented the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award;the highest honor bestowed on a Lion. He had resided in Belle Vernon for over 65 years and retired in 1974 from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.;where he worked as an inspector in the tube mill. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law;Randy L. and Ann Jesick of Indiana;Pa.; a brother and sister-in-law;Thomas and Betty Jesick;and two sisters;Helen Jesick and Margaret Brown;all of Belle Vernon;four grandchildren;Katrina Quinn of Merrimack;N.H.;Gretchen Jesick of Weirton;WVa.;Matthew Jesick of Fairfax;Va.;and Mark Jesick of Indiana;Pa.;and three Great-grandchildren;Tyler;Ryan and Jordan Quinn. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Vivian Laird Jesick on Nov.11;2000;a sister;Claire Gardner;and five brothers;Paul Frank;Ed;Jim and Victor Jesick. Friends will be received in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME;INC.;a Golden Rule Member Firm;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.James C.Rmsey officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Session of the First Presbyterian Church wil meet in the funeral home to hold services Friday at 7 p.m. Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
