Charleroi and the district lost one of its most famous minstrelmen when Louis B. (Mose) DeHosse died at 2:07 p.m. Monday, November 3,1941, at St. Francis Hospital,Pittsburgh, after an illness of some time. Several weeks ago the family moved from Monessen to Perryopolis R.D.No.1. In the death of Louis B. For 12 years when their minstrel act was in demand,red-headed,good-natured "Mose" cajoled, danced, sang and jibed his minstrel partner Alex Houston, who today paid him his best tribute;"We were together all the time and never had a bad word between us. I'll miss him." "Mose" was born at Elkhorn, near Bunola, but lived here most of his life. He was a member of the Belle Vernon Christian Church and served in the U. S. Navy for a long hitch. He is survived by two sisters,Mrs. Winnie Byers of Courtney and Mrs. Blanche Ducoeur of Charleroi and two brothers,Harry of Courtney and Joseph of Detroit, his wife, Mrs. Zelma DeHosse;one son, Louis and three daughters, Lois,Shirley and Norma at home. The remains are reposing at the Melenyzer funeral home in Belle Vernon, where friends are being received and funeral services will be held Thursday,November 6,at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
