Frank Nicholas Dellamalva;80;of Monessen;died Friday;Aug.3;2001;in Harmon House;Mt.Pleasant;where he had been residing for the past several years. He was born June 27;1921;in Monessen;a son of the late Dominick Dellamalva and Yvonne Michaux. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen and its Holy name Society;a charter member of Valley Chordsmen and a member of American Legion Post 28 of Monessen. He also served as choir director of the former St.Leonard Parish in Monessen for over 20 years. Mr.Dellamalva had also played in the Monessen Firemen’s Band and the Louhi Band. He was an employee of American Chain and Cable Co.;Pages Division;and had also worked at the former John L.Gibson Chevrolet Garage and with the Pa.State Liquor Control Board. A devoted father and grandfather;Mr.Dellamalva was an Air Force veteran of World War II;having served as a cryptographer with the 17th fighter group. Surviving are a son;Dean R.Dellamalva and wife Debbie of Monongahela;a daughter;Mrs.Phil (Maria) Giordano of Belle Vernon;a brother;Henry Dellamalva of Sun City West;Ariz.;four grandchildren;Dean R.Dellamalva Jr.and his wife Tori;Christi Dellamalva and Philip and Christopher Giordano. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife;Marjorie Moncini Dellamalva;a son;Dennis Dellamalva;a sister;Dorothy Dellamalva;and an infant daughter;Anita. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. Services will be held at Epiphany of Our Lord Church on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers;memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J.Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
