Obituary

Shortly after 10 o'clock Thursday morning,June 17,1915,the death angel claimed Louis Brandes,aged 77 years of 440 Donner avenue,Monessen.  He was one of the town's pioneer residents.  Mr.Brandes has been ill for some time,and for the past three weeks has been confined to his bed,his death being due to a complications of diseases.  He came to this city nearly 12 years ago and up until about four years ago was employed at the plant of the Carnegie Steel company.  Besides his wife,the deceased is survived by four boys and three girls,namely,Charles,Harry,George and William and Miss Emma Brandes,Mrs.Nettie Meyers and Mrs.Tom Cooper,all residents of this city with the exception of Harry who lives at Glenshaw.
