Twelve-year-old Dale Zucconi;
formerly of Belle Vernon; was
killed by a Pennsylvania Railroad
passenger train in West End;
Pittsburgh; Wednesday;May 30;1945. He was a son of Mrs.Helen Zucconi and the late Leon Zucconi of Belle Vernon. A companion; Robert Cypher;7; of Pittsburgh; was also killed in the same accident. According to reports; the boys
were hit as they sat on the tracks 100 yards east of the Corliss tunnel on the Panhandle Division.
Playmates said they had been playing ball and evidently failed to hear the train. The young boy; who lived at 2435 West Carson street; died at 8 p. m. The train was running between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. Dale is survived by his mother;a sister;Helen May;and his grandmother;Mrs.Cora Zucconi of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the McDermot Brothers Funeral Home;1225 Chartiers avenue;until Saturday at 1 p.m.;when the body will be brought to the Melenyzer Funeral Home in Belle Vernon where friends will be received from 3 p.m.until 3:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
