Obituary
Frank Yuhar,33,of Gillespie,died early Monday morning, November 18,1940 of injuries received Sunday night when he was struck by a car while walking towards his home on the Gillespie road, Route 711. According to police, Mr. Yuhar was walking along the road when he was struck by a car operated by Carl Sofranko,22,of Stockdale. Mr. Sofranko said he was traveling in the same direction as Mr. Yuhar when a car coming in the oppsite direction attempted to pass another car. Mr. Sofranko swerved his machine to avoid a collison with the car coming towards him and struck Mr. Yuhar. Mr. Yuhar was taken to a Fayette City physician at 11:30 Sunday night and ordered to the Charleroi-Monessen hospital where he died of a fractured skull at 12:26 a.m. on Sunday morning.
