Obituary

John C. West, aged 90, a resident of Monessen for many years, died Wednesday, July 7,1943 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lewis Blackburn, 331 Henry street, Belle Vernon, where he had resided for some time. Death followed a short illness. He was a member of Monessen Lodge, Knights of Pythias. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Blackburn and a son, Fred West, of Salem, Ohio. A brother, Charles West, of Carlton, Ohio and a sister, Mrs. Welty Hough, of  Winfield, Kansas, also survive, along with eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Toner Funeral Home, Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon,where services will be held Friday,July 9,at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Homer Pierce,pastor of the Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold R.Toner,funeral director, in charge.
