Obituary

Funeral services for E. A. Wells, who died suddenly Wednesday afternoon,January 31,1934 from a heart attack while attending to his duties at the Page Steel & Wire company will be held from the lale home, 49 Donner avenue on Friday afternoon at two o'clock with interment following in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. "Capt." as he was known to a legion of friends in this city came rightfully by his title, having served as Captain of Company B 31st Infantry during the Spanish-American war, having seen service in Cuba. He came to this city from Adrian, Mich., in 1904 and was employed as welfare and employment officer at the local Page plant since that time. He took an active interest in civic and fraternal affairs of the community and served as a member of the borough council at one time. Fraternally, he gave much of his time to the Knights of Pythias lodge, holding high offices in the fraternal organization. He was also a Past Exalted Ruler of the B. P. O. Elks, a member of the Odd Fellows, Masons and Moose. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign wars.  He was 65 years of age and had been with the Page Steel 7 Wire company since 1900.  Besides his wife,Mrs.Lulu May Wells,three daughters,Mrs.Helen Aubrey of Monessen,Marion,at home,and Mrs.Beatrice Monack of Charleroi,survive.  The body has been removed to the late home.
