Obituary

Thursday night,August 29,1918,about 10 o'clock John Wesco Jr.,aged 12 years,was run down by an automobile driven by Richard Hobbs of Charleroi on the road near the LeGrange schoolhouse back of Belle Vernon and injured so badly that he died about 10:30.  The little fellow,with a boy named Beaumont was struck by the machine but the latter was not hurt.  The Wesco boy received a fractured skull and a severe wound in the back of the head.  He was rushed to the office of Dr.Gordon of Belle Vernon by he died in a few minutes after reaching there.  The body was taken to the undertaking rooms of Hancock & Melenyzer and prepared for burial.
