Fred Vigne,Sr.,aged 68,a pioneer resident of Monessen passed away Friday afternoon,January 8,1926,after having been a sufferer of asthma for almost 12 years. Mr.Vigne imigrated to this country from France 36 years ago and resided near McDonald in the Pan-handle district for some time before coming to the Monongahela valley and selecting Monessen as his future home. As a young man,Mr.Vigne saw active service in the Colonial army of France in Northern Africa. He is survived by his widow and one son,Fred Vigne,street commissioner for the city. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.from the home of his son,320 Third street and interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
