James Tharpe,aged 76 years,died Tuesday, January 28,1936,at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.W. Hammitt,116 State St.,Belle Vernon. He had been ill for several days. Surviving are two sons, LeRoy Tharpe of Monessen and William Tharpe of New Castle,and two daughters, Mrs Hammitt and Mrs. George Kriess of Butler. A step-daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Sharrock of Monessen,also survives,along with a sister who resides in Butler. Funeral services are announced for Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock,the service to be in charge of Rev. G.L. Slagle,pastor of the Christian Church of Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
