Kust Somppi;age 74 years;of 807 Shady avenue;Charleroi;died at his home;Wednesday;March 20;1947 at 3:14 p.m.;after an illness of two weeks.  He was born in Finland;April 29;1872.  He came to Charleroi in 1934 from Daisytown.  He was a retired coal miner.  He is survived by his wife;Mary Poro Sompi;nine daughters;Mrs.Ida Touri of Detroit;Michigan;Mrs. Mary Selin;of Quincy;Massachusetts;Mrs.Susan Maki;of Westerly;Rhode Island;Mrs.Martha Hill;of Wood River Junction;Rhode Island;Mrs.Jennie Tolski;of New York City;Mrs.Lina Huber and Mrs.Aino Johnston of Charleroi;Mrs.Stella Anderson;of North Charleroi;Mrs.Kathryn Johnson;of Belle Vernon;two sons;John of Warren;Ohio and Carl at home;two brothers;August Somppi of Ashley;Massachusetts;and Kalle Somppi of Warren;Ohio;one sister in Finland and eighteen grandchildren.    Friends will be received at the Lawrence B.Frye Funeral Home.  Services will be held there Saturday;March 22;1947;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.Meade A.Rugh.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Lawrence B.Frye is the funeral director.
