C.M. Smith,77,died Thursday, Dec. 14,1944,at his home in Webster,following a day's illness. He was the owner of the Webster Lumber Company. He is survived by a sister,Miss Belle Smith,Latrobe and two brothers, Ezra and James in Illinois. Four grandchildren also survive,Sam Smith in France;William at sea;Mrs.Gertrude Rutter,Mercer and Miss Virginia Smith,Monessen. Friends are being received at the Lawson Funeral home in Donora until Saturday,Dec. 16,at 2 p.m.,when funeral services will be held from the Presbyterian Church in Webster. Interment will follow at the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
