Obituary

Believed to have received a fractured skull when she fell Tuesday morning,August 5,1941,Mrs.Berd Smock,69,of Belle Vernon,died in Monongahela Memorial hospital at 9:35 a.m. Mrs.Smock fell in the yard of her son's home,W.E.Smock,of 307 Main street, Belle Vernon,where she made her home. The accident occurred previous to 7:45 a.m.when an amblance was summoned and removed her to the hospital. While details are not yet known it was indicitated that Mrs.Smock may have fallen while on a pair of steps in the yard. The Smock family has been in Belle Vernon for many years and Mrs.Smock was generally well known. Friends are being received at the late home where funeral services will be held Friday,August 8,1941,at 2 p.m.in charge of Rev.F.S.Montgomery,pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. C.L.and Edwin Melenyzer are the funeral directors.
