Joseph O. Springer, aged 80 years, died Monday,March 9,1941, at 2 a. m. after a lingering illness, in the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh. Born in Belle Vernon September 3,1860, he was a resident there all his life. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. P. Cameron, Wilkinshurg, and Miss Bess Springer, at home; one son, Robert G. Springer, West Newton; two sisters, Mrs. S. W. Murphy, of West Newton, and Mrs. B. B. Martin, of Pittsburgh; and one grandchild, Joseph A. Cameron, of Wilkinsburg. Friends are being received at the residence, 207 Broad avenue, Belle Vernon, until 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, March 11, when the remains will be taken to the Toner Funeral Home for services. Rev. Percy Mundy of the Belle Vernon Baptist Church, and Rev. Edwin Sloan, of the Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, will be in charge of the services at 2 p. m. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
