Obituary

Mrs. Eva Teggart Smith,wife of C.M.Smith,of Webster,died Wednesday night,October 2,1940,at 8:10 o'clock in the St. Francis hospital,Pittsburgh,where she had been a patient for the past month. Ailing for the past year,she was pronounced in a critical condition two months ago,and removed to the hospital a month later.  She was aged 75 years. Born and reared in this immediate section,Mrs Smith was a daughter of the late John and Rachael Teggert,of Fayette City and Belle Vernon.  Mr.and Mrs. Smith celebrated their 50th wedding anniversry last July. Surviving Mrs. Smith is her husband,C.M.Smith,proprietor of the Webster Lumber Co.,three sisters,Mrs. Ada Steen, Belle Vernon;Mrs. Ethel Swearinger,Brownsville;Mrs.Carrie Brown,Redstone Valley;and one brother,William Teggart,of Brownsville Construction Co.  Four grandchildren,Gertrude,William,Sam and Virginia Smith,all of Monessen,also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday sfternoon,October 6 at 2 p.m.,from the Webster Presbyterian Church,with Rev. George Guest officiating.  Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
