Obituary

Frank A. (Jakey) Springer,71,postmaster at Belle Vernon under Theodore Roosevelt and William H. Taft,died Sunday afternoon April 13,1940 at 12:30 o'clock after a brief illness.  He sucumbed at his home 209 Broad avenue,Belle Vernon. Mr. Springer had been in the general merchandising business until a little over a year ago when he retired.  He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. S.W. Murphy of Belle Vernon,and Mrs. B.B. Morton of Pittsburgh,and one brother,Joseph O. Springer,of Belle Vernon.  Rites from late home,209 Broad avenue,Belle Vernon at 2:30 Monday afternoon,April 15,1940.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Rev. G.Meade Dougherty of M.E. Church and Rev. Edwin G. Sloan,Presbyterian Church,in charge.  Harold R.Toner,mortician.
