Obituary

Mrs. Lavina Sims,aged 40 years,wife of Thomas Sims,of 720 Washington avenue,died Saturday afternoon,March 12,1927,at 1:10 o'clock,at the Charleroi-Monessen hospital. Mrs. Sims, a well-known and highly esteemed citizen of the borough,has been failing in health for the  past,such as to require an operation,which was performed last Tuesday morning and from which time she has been slowly sinking,death relieving her sufferings on Saturday afternoon.  Mrs. Sims was a member of the Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband,she is survived by two daughters and one son, Margaret,Jean and Edward,at home;her mother.Mrs. Catherine Cocain,one sister,Mrs. Sarah Fletcher,and one brother,Robert Cocain,all of Charleroi. Funeral services will be held from her late home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock,with the Rev. Frank S. Montgomery in charge,interment following in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
