Manoah Springer,79 years old,died Monday morning,December 10,1923 at 2:10 o'clock at his home,1315 West Crawford avenue,West Side. He had been ill for some time ad in the past two weeks his condition was considered serious. He had been reared in Belle Vernon. He was employed as a carpenter for a number of years by the Baltimore & Ohio railroad and later in the office of the Confluence Ice Company. He has been in poor health since last fall when found unconscious in the office from fumes of a stove. He was a member of the Royal Arcanum. In addition to his widow,he is survived by one son,Samuel C.Springer of Confluence and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in his home Wesdnesday evening at 8 o'clock and on Thursday afternoon the body will be taken to his native home at Belle Vernon by Funeral Director,O.C. Mitchell. The service there will be conducted at 9 o'clock in the Baptist Church and interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Mr.Springer whs born in 1844, a son of Daniel and Rachel Jordan Springer. He married Miss Mary McWilliams,who survives, in 1870 and came here in 1884,being employed as a carpenter. One son,Daniel C.of Huntingdon,W.VA.,survives. Three children are deceased.
