Obituary

Herbert Ray, aged 68 years,well known and highly respected resident of Charleroi for the past 25 years,died Sunday morning,March 22,1925 at 5:10 o'clock at his late home in 139 McKean avenue,following a two weeks' illness. Mr. Ray,who has been employed at the McBeth-Evans Glass company for the past thirteen years,was born in Birmingham, England,April 27,1856,but has resided in this country for many years. He was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church,and also a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge of Crystal City,Missouri. He leaves to mourn his passing,his widow, Mrs. Margaret Ray,three sons, George and Herbert Ray,of West Somerville,Massachusetts,and Harry Ray of McKean avenue,Charleroi;and two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Thompson of Lookout avenue and Miss Nellie Ray at home. Funeral services will take place Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the late home with Rev. Sidney H. Dixon,rector of St. Mary's Church,in charge.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
