Obituary

A victim of pneumonia,Mrs.Mary M.Pascoe,aged 89 years,possibly one of the oldest residents of this section,died Thursday,March 11,1943,at 3:15 p.m.at her home,432 Speers street,Belle Vernon.  She had been ill for the past week.  Children to the fifth generation survive,including a son,four daughters,fourteen grandchildren,twenty-three great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Twice a victim of pneumonia,her excellent physical stamina made it possible for her to fight off the disease and until stricken one week ago.  Mrs.Pascoe was active in the pursuit of her household duties in addition to sewing and handicraft.She was born June 24,1854 at Syracuse,Ohio,a daughter of Alexander and Eliza Quillin. Subsequently she was married in Syracuse to William Pascoe.  Mrs.Pascoe was the eldest of eleven daughters.  She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Belle Vernon.  The family located in Belle Vernon in 1907,going there from New Kensington where Mr.Pascoe conducted a butter and farm produce market.  ,He died in 1905.  Surviving are a son,John A. Pascoe,of Arnold,Pa.,four daughters,Mrs.James F.Culler and Mrs.Mattie Spang,of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Olive King,of Pittsburgh,and Mrs.R.B.Campbell,of Greenville,Illinois.  Four sistrs all residing in New haven,W.Va.also survive. Arthur R.Culler and J.Arlie Culler, Charleroi business men are her grandsons. Friends are being received at the home of Mrs.Culler,440 Spear street.  Funeral services will be held Monday,March 15,at 2:30 p.m.,from the Free Methodist Church,with Rev.Zenas Niver officiating.  Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Charles L.and Edwin F.Melenyzer,funeral directors in charge.
