Mrs. Alien Phares, wife of Charles O. Phares,died Monday January 22,1940,in her 73rd year at her home in Broad street, East Belle Vernon,following an illness of three years. Friends will be received at the Melenyzer Funeral home until Thursday at 11 a.m. when the body will be moved to the A.M. E. Church in Speer street where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. The sermon will be by Rev. Fraxier of Erie,and interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. She is sruvived by her husband;six children,Mrs. Barbara Brown of Monessen,Mrs. Elizabeth Ross,Mrs. Eva Minnie,Nelson B.,George and Louis Ross,of Belle Vernon;17 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Rebecca Miller of Monessen.
