On Monday evening, December 31,1923,George L. Popp was called to his reward by death at his home on Sampson street, East Belle Vernon, aged 63 years and five months. Deceased was born in the vicinity of Braddock Pa., and has been a resident of Belle Vernon thirty-six years. During ten years of this period he was engaged in the transfer business and later operated a coal mine of which he was the owner. He was a member of a lodge of the Knights of Pythias, an industrious and highly esteemed citizen. He is survived by his wrfe and seven children, namely: Mrs. Louis Kamadisky,of Monessen, Mrs. John Raffin of Fairhope, and George L. Jr.Watson, Harry, Alice and Allen of Belle Vernon. Funeral services wil be held in the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon, Rev. Henry Madtes officiating on Thursday afternoon, Jan.3rd, at 2:30 o'clock.
